The current political situation in Zimbabwe makes tor planning difficult, but individuals who would like to visit the country are welcome to ask for assistance. Situated within Hwange National Park on its eastern boundary, The Hide Safari Camp offers a special and unique African safari experience, catering for guests who want more than simply a view of the wild through the windows of a mini-bus. Hwange is Zimbabwe's largest national park and is home to some of Africa's most prolific game herds. It contains over 107 species of animals and 405 species of birds and is one of the few remaining sanctuaries in Africa where herds of up to 100 elephant may be seen. Even larger groups may be seen at waterholes when several matriarchal herds gather at the same time. Game viewing excursions are organized by licensed professional guides, and can be tailor-made to suit individual requirements. Accommodation is in East African style canvas tents, comfortably furnished and each with en suite shower and toilet facilities. Although The Hide is in the heart of the bush, meals are served in elegance and style on the hottest plates in the bundu! |
