Nestling among the Bvumba Mountains in eastern Zimbabwe is one of southern Africa's premier birding destinations. The small reserve is located on an east–facing slope and has an area of unspoilt montane forest. For many years this has been looked after with birds being the main objective. The reserve has many paths which make access to all parts of the forest reasonably easy. However, it is because Peter Madiziwana lives and works here that it is possible to see most if not all the forest specials. His knowledge of the breeding and general natural history of the forest species in unsurpassed and he is usually able to locate all species, especially during the breeding season in November & December when the birds are defending territory. Seldomseen has comfortable accommodation in the old farmhouse and several smaller cottages. This accommodation can be either self-catering or fully catered.
