A luxury tented camp with each tent having en suite facilities. The camp is situated on rising ground above the Selinda river flood plain. From the camp one can watch big game coming to drink at the long pool in the river.
I guess that the Selinda Spillway area of the Okavango system is probably the most open and therefore photographer friendly of all the places we like to visit. The Giraffe are abundant and provide some of the most memorable photographs I have seen! The area boasts outstanding Lion and Cheetah viewing, Leopards a distinct possibility. The Elephants are amiable giants – an electric fence has to be erected around the camp at night to keep them out of the camp area.
Perhaps the most amazing sight is the huge number of hippo which occupy the lagoons – one has to wonder how so many find food in what appears to be an inhospitable environment for these large grazers. This area is renowned for a pride of lions which have developed a successful strategy for killing hippo when out of the water.
Large raptors, especially Martial Eagles, are a conspicuous part of this area. Kori Bustard, the world's heaviest flying bird, are often seen striding majestically across the open areas.
