How to Handle Driving in LA

In the great city of Los Angeles, people can lose their minds. Why is this? Well, one contributing factor is the traffic and the fact that you have to drive everywhere. In California, nothing is as close as it seems. For instance, you might think you could visit downtown Los Angeles and then head down to your favorite theme park in Anaheim, but that’s nearly an hour drive with no traffic.

So if you’re vacationing in Los Angeles, you will probably not have the best time if you’re not prepared for the nightmare that is traffic and long-distance driving. Public transportation does technically exist in LA but no one uses it because it is not very convenient. There’s still a few ways for you to get around these issues and be able to handle driving in LA.

During Your Vacation

Whether you’re already pretty prepared for your vacation to LA or you feel like you need more preparation, you should definitely consider the transportation issue. There are a few ways to go about handling this. First, you can rent a car if you’d like. There are plenty of places to rent cars and there are several options to choose from. Whether you’re interested in fuel economy or something more flashy, as is common in Los Angeles, you’ll be able to find it.

But be careful since Los Angeles is far from cheap. It’s one of the most expensive cities in the country, and while there are a few that are pricier such as New York and San Francisco, LA always seems to find ways to catch up to them. If you’re interested in saving money on a vehicle and lodging simultaneously, you can always rent an RV in Los Angeles.

Now, you might be wondering what the benefits of driving an RV in Los Angeles could be. Well, for starters, it’s a great opportunity to save money on lodging. Hotels in LA can get really expensive, especially if you don’t want to stay somewhere that’s run-down and grimy. An RV is a great way to avoid hotels altogether.

Another benefit is that if you’re vacationing with your family or a large group of people, everyone can chip in for the cost of the RV and everyone can spread out more during the driving portions of the trip.

Getting an RV

If you’re interested in doing something like this in order to increase comfort and save money, you have a few options. You could go online and look for an RV rental place that is local to Los Angeles, although it might be hard to find one if you’re from another part of the country. Another option is to ask someone you know who lives in Los Angeles to help you find one.

But if you don’t know anyone in LA, you’ll probably have to stick with the online approach. Be sure to do a lot of research and make sure you’re getting the best deal so that you can save money on your trip and enjoy it even more.
